
No time for homemade bread. This recipe allows you to serve your family delicious homemade bread in about an hour. Wonderful with soups and stews. Great crispy crust.

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 58-68 minutesIngredients
5-6 cups flour
2 Tablespoons yeast
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 Tablespoon salt
2 cup warm water
Directions
Mix 4 c of the flour with yeast, sugar and salt. Pour in hot water and beat 3 minutes with a mixer or 5 minutes by hand. Stir in remaining flour until no longer sticky. Knead 8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover with damp towel. Let rise 15 minutes. Divide into 2 pieces. Shape into 2 round loaves and place on a baking sheet. Cut an X in top of each loaf. Brush with water. Place on the middle shelf of cold oven. Place a cake pan of hot water on lowest shelf. Heat oven to 400. Bake 35-45 minutes or until bread sounds hollow when tapped on bottom of loaf. Delicious served with homemade soup.
