Gerda’s Chili Sauce

A staple for West Virginia hotdogs. Brought every year to the Fox family reunion at Babcock State Park in August.

Servings: 20-24   Prep Time: 15 minutes   Cook Time: 45minutes-1hour  

Ingredients

2 lbs.Ground Beef
1 Big Onion finely chopped
1 Green Pepper finely chopped
1 sm. can Tomato Paste
2 cups Ketchup
1 1/2 cups Water
1 T. Sugar
3 T. Garlic Powder
3 T. Chili Powder
1 tsp. Hot Pepper Sauce ( may use crushed red pepper)


Directions

Brown ground beef. Add onions and green peppers. Cook until onion is transparent. Add the remaining ingredients and cook on medium heat for 40 minutes-1 hour. Add more water if needed.
