Received this recipe from a friend over 35 years ago.

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: about 25 (8 ounce)

Prep Time: 10 minutes   Cook Time: none

Ingredients

6 cups nonfat dry milk powder
1 cup powdered nondairy creamer
2-1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
Store mixture in an airtight container.
To serve, add 3/4 cup boiling water to 1/3 cup homemade cocoa mix. Stir until dissolved.

To use as a gift basket goodie: fill a canning jar with mixture and seal with lid and ring, put label with serving instructions on outside of jar, cut a square of pretty fabric, cover lid and ring with fabric held in place by rubber band. Cover rubber band with ribbon or a couple of strands of raffia.

Thanks for posting this. Is the powdered sugar the same as confectioner’s sugar?

    • princessvanessa says:

Yes, confectioner’s sugar is the “powdered sugar” that is called out in the recipe. I got this recipe years and years ago from another friend who grew up out in the country, like me, and we always called it “powdered”.
Sorry it took so long to respond. Been working ten hour days and this is the first I’ve opened my e-mail or CITR.
      Hope you like it.

This was great! My wife loved it and commented that it was not as sweet as the pre-made packages but still has a rich hot cocoa taste.
