    Stir all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl and arrange in 9 inch baking dish. Dot the top with 1/4 cup of butter and sprinkle with cinnamon.

  • Hubby doesn’t like zucchini, but loves yellow crookneck squash. I have found that they taste very similar and substitute nicely in quick breads. I sometimes mix in a little of the green zucchini for color, but Hubby likes the golden shredds. I put some of the larger ones in the freezer to give to the […]

  • It takes a long time and effort to amass that much food! It is nice to hear that someone shares with neighbors and friends when they might need a helping hand. The world would be a nicer, gentler place if we learned to share with our neighbor once in awhile.

  • That poor lonely piece of pie in the last pic almost brought a tear–poor little pie–somebody eat it! I will try once again to bake another pie. I had never heard of filling the shell with beans to keep it uniform. Thanks for a great post!!

  • Wow this looks so much easier than growing from seed! I bought a packet and have tried growing it three times now–The last time a nice little batch sprouted, but hubby thought they were weeds and used it to step on it to keep his feet from sinking into the mud. (sigh) I am going […]

    Okay Pete . . .I get it now: I thought that it was more like the drape that goes behind the portraits when at a Sears studio. I will have to experiment with this now. Now where is the camera??? I noticed that even though it is the same area, the colors of the flowers […]

  • How did I miss this post?! I remember some time ago, you had recipes for ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. And I now that you canned a boatload of tomatoes for sauce–have you had a chance to use it and have fresh Homemade pasta???? UMMMMMmm!!!

    Wow I can even see the ‘skin’ on the nuts in the cheesecake cookies! Another skill that I have yet to master–Oh wait. . .half the time I can’t even FIND the camera. You go, Girl! You could be one of those food photographers that make a ton of money!

  • Thanks Mrs turkey–I bookmarked that one.

  • I make mine like I would my fav mac and cheese recipe. I melt the better and take it off the heat and add the flour. After all of the flour is mixed in, I very slowly add the milk, whisking to keep the mixture liquidy. After about 1/4 cup of milk is added, I […]

  • We are going to have bucket loads of jalapeno peppers this year! I am not too much into hot relish, but would love to have as many recipes as possible to fully utitilize them.

  • I submitted Rhubarb Crunch. My mother in law made this for a family cookout a few weeks ago, and took home an empty dish.

    I like it with just a tad more cinnamon in the base.

    Please enter me in for the cast iron dutch oven! Oh, the foods I could make in it!!!

  • I love this time of year! Things are just starting to ripen in the garden and dinner is different EVERY night! Our snow peas should be ready next week. They go with just about anything from the garden and can be eaten raw or cooked. Little N helped me pick the shell peas last night […]

  • If I had one of those–it would never see the inside of the cupboard! Congrats to you for getting the Hubby involved on the tomato straining work, but then again–Those mixers are OUR power tools!
    ++++Yipee my password problems solved!
