We have a new baby donkey, named her Fannie Banannie. Last year’s baby was a boy, named him Keister. We have a thing with “ass” names going on here now. View

  • That looks delicious. No ramps here in MN, though. In fact, it snowed yesterday. Maybe leeks can be a stand-in?

  • Love Love Love the rake and wipe board, and the cookie cutter is ingenious. You are one smart gal!

What a lovely post. Wonderful memories of your grandmother for sure. Thanks so much for sharing this little glimpse of your childhood with us.

Talk about timing. Last year, spurred on by Suzanne’s urging, for the first time I canned. Made several dozen half pints of grape jam from the grapes we were finally able to harvest. I say that because my nuighty goats would get out of the pasture and eat the vines down every year. Anyway, we […]

  • I make a pot roast in the slow cooker the way Laura does; the meat, potatoes, 3 carrots, 3 celery ribs, 1 can cream mushroom, 8oz coca cola, and also 1 pack of brown gravy mix and 1 pack onion soup mix. It’s delish! Also pieces of chicken, mixed veggies, cream of mushroom and cream […]

  • Cute posting, I adore your aisle 1. You’ve also imparted some good habits into your kids, in addition to good food!

  • This sounds delicious, I hope to make this over the weekend. Yummy photos, too!

  • Thanks, Pete. We both love red bell peppers, so I’ll use plenty of those, maybe just a bit of a mildly hot variety.

  • Dede, thanks for the recipe I can’t wait to try it. For those of you with more experience, what to do if we like salsa really mild? I have really bad GERD, and can’t eat spicy stuff, I buy mild salsa at the store for instance. Thanks in advance, Val

Pam, the recipe you mentioned isn’t the one, but please post it! It sounds yummy, but everything that nutmeg touches is wonderful. I even named my horse Nutmeg.

  • My mom made sour cream cookies back in the late 50s. The recipe was in a HUGE cookbook with a yellow cover. The cookies were cakey, and pale, with a thin brown rim around the edges. Yummy. The sour cream came in a glass 8 oz container that you could then use as a drinking […]

  • Ooooooooooooooh I needs me a scraper! Please pick my number!! I’ve wanted one for so long and never bought one…

  • A person would think that a repairman would have a large assortment of parts for that particular model. So inefficient to travel to someone’s home and the trip is wasted. No wonder it takes so long for someone to come out in the first place, they are so busy making wasted trips. I love this […]

  • This is just wonderful!! What a great surprise and I can’t wait to get started reading through the recipes, adding some and requesting some. And thanks for the giveaways, you are so sweet!
