These cookies instantaneously transport me back ‘home’. They are a family favorite and a permanent fixture in my holiday baking.
Servings: 40Cook Time: 12 minutes
1 c sugar
1 c melted shortening
1 c dark molasses
4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger
2 tsp cinnamon
Cream sugar, shortening, eggs and molasses. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Scoop out walnut-sized pieces of dough and roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 12 minutes.
