Does anyone have a recipe for a dry mix for a cheese ball? I found some really cute cheese spreaders on sale and thought they would make nice little Christmas gifts if I packaged them with a cheese ball mix. I’ve seen packaged mixes at craft fairs and such, but I was hoping I could make one myself. Thanks much!
Over on the other forum, quite a while ago, someone gave me a recipe for chorizo. I think it was a regular poster there, but can’t remember whom, my apologizes. We were discussing another topic, I think, and that came up in the middle of it. Of course, I can’t remember what the other topic was either.
I do remember that the recipe called for pork tenderloin and vodka. I never got the vodka. My husband kept promising to pick it up for me but could not quite wrap his head around the idea that it wasn’t wine I wanted. I did get several nice bottles of wine out of the deal, but that wasn’t what the recipe called for.
Would whomever posted please post again. This time I’ll write the recipe on the wall and go get the vodka myself, hoping our Baptist minister isn’t passing by the same area.
Am also open to trying recipes for it from others, but this one sounded really simple and, I believe was kept in a plastic container in the ‘fridge with being stuffed into casings, which sounds good to me as I have no sausage attachment to any kitchen implement I own.
A few years ago we tried a pumpkin dip recipe. It was very simple – just a can of pumpkin with a hunk of cream cheese, maybe a bit of powdered sugar added? By itself, it was rather tasteless. The twist was that you dipped ginger snaps into it and it was wonderful!
We love the chicken link sausages with cheese and hot peppers or dried tomatoes in them that Sam’s used to sell. However they changed brands some time ago and the new ones do not suit so well. I have made my own a couple of times and they were edible but not great. If anyone has a recipe of this kind it would be a huge help.
My husband loves dumplings and I usually use the recipe off the back of the box of Bisquick. But there must be something better than that. Does anyone have a good dumpling recipe they’re willing to share?
Our family is planning a camping trip for early October. I am looking for suggestions for meals that are simple but delicious. I am tired of the same old things – hamburgers, chicken, etc. We will be cooking on the campfire. There will be 9 of us, so cooking for a crowd will be important. Thanks!
I thought I read somewhere in CITR that someone was using home made vanilla extract. Is this true, or am I delusional? If true, recipe please? (If delusional, never mind.)
