Sawdust Pie

This easy, yummy pie is scrumptious, served warm with sliced bananas and whipped cream!

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: 8

Prep Time: 20 minutes   Cook Time: 25 - 30 minutes

1 cup egg whites (about 7 eggs)
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 1/2 cups pecans or walnuts
1 1/2 cups sweetened flaked coconut
9″ unbaked pie shell
Sliced bananas
Whipped cream

Aluminum foil to line pie shell

Preheat oven to 450°.

Line pie shell with double thickness of aluminum foil and bake for 8 minutes. Remove foil. Bake 4 more minutes or until slightly brown…do not over bake! Cool pie shell.

Reduce oven temperature to 350°.

Combine sugar, graham cracker crumbs, pecans or walnuts and coconut in bowl.

In a separate bowl, beat egg whites just until foamy, add coconut mixture and mix well.

Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake until pie is set, about 25-30 minutes. Do not over bake!

Serve warm with sliced bananas and whipped cream. Yummy!
