Southern Style Cinnamon Syrup

I saw a reader request for this and thought I’d see what I could come up with since I’m able to buy cinnamon quite cheaply. It turned out so yummy that I am going to make it and give as Christmas gifts this year. So easy, so yummy.

Difficulty: Easy

Servings: Makes approx. 3/4 cup

Prep Time: 2 minutes   Cook Time: 2 minutes

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
10-12 pieces cinnamon bark, approximately 3 inches each

Directions

Combine water, sugar and cinnamon bark in a saucepan. Heat to boiling over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Stir to submerge cinnamon. Let cool. Strain into jar and store in refrigerator. Delicious in coffee (hot or iced), tea or other drinks.
