Great cold weather snack that doesn’t take too long to make.
Servings: 8Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 10-20 minutes
about 1 lb ground beef
1/2 onion chopped
1 and 1/2 envelopes taco seasoning
hot banana peppers
Mexican blend shredded cheese
restaurant style tortilla chips
Brown ground beef with onions; drain well. Mix in taco seasoning and cook according to directions on envelope. I always use a little more taco seasoning than what’s normal since I don’t put taco sauce on this.
Cover oven-proof or microwavable plate with tortilla chips. Sprinkle cooked ground beef over top. Add banana peppers and about 1/4 – 1/3 of the cheese.
Repeat with another one or two layers.
If in a conventional oven, bake at about 375-400 for 10-15 minutes or until cheese melts.
Microwave for about 4 minutes depending on strength of your oven but definitely check every 30 seconds.
Make sure you have plenty of towels because this stuff will warm you up in a hurry!!!
