For the mud season…..  I got this from an old Readers Digest.

salt (regular table salt)

white vinegar

Put the salt in a bowl (a couple tablespoons).  Add vinegar, enough to mix into a paste.  (Make more if you need more.)  Rinse off the mud then spread the salt/vinegar paste over the mud stains (even red clay) and let sit for 20 minutes before washing in the washing machine as usual.

Clover made me do it.

Great timing! My husband is outside 'mudding' the outdoor (red) clay oven as we speak! Thanks for this handy tip.

I (sorta) have a farm in Africa.

That old red clay mud doesn't just dry and brush off. It tends to leave a stain. Bring on the white vinegar. Vinegar is a good old stand-by.

Darlene,

I just have to ask, how did you find a rocking avatar? That is so cool! Also, how do people add sayings that stick to their posts? Hoping you can clue me in!happy-feet

hdown,

When you are logged in, if you click on Profile, it will take you to a box that says “Set up your  Signature”. Type what ever you want and save it. Is that as clear as mud? wave
