I go through patches like that. The best thing to do is keep the cupboard and frig stocked and tell them tonight is everyman for him or herself! I've been leaning towards anything easy to clean-up, since that is my least favorite part.I wish I could loan you my daughter-in-law. When she comes to visit, she cooks, she bakes, she cleans. OMG, what a joy! The next best thing is to go off for a few days and just eat out. Pretty soon, you realize, hey! I can do better than this! We've all felt like you, Mary. Don't despair. Spring is on its way…

Mary B I so agree with you. Nearly 50 years of tryng to come up with new things makes one want to tear out the hair! One of my DILs is a great Mexican cook and after spending a week with her at Christmas came home with some new/old things. Green chili pork stew, posole (fantastic chicken soup), etc. However, (isn't there always one?), DH is starting to speak Spanish! Keep looking n FB there are so many great dishes.

Mary I'm right there with you too! I go through “spells” where just the thought of cooking dinner makes me crazy! The part I hate the most, is just figuring out what to make.
I have found that trying new recipes gets me back into the groove. I am a compulsive recipe hoarder LOL and seem to always have an endless supply of new recipes to try. Even though my hubby is not ever helpful in the what to fix for dinner challenge, he actually likes trying new stuff….. I have learned though just to fix it, if I ask him if he would like to try this or that he is likely to hesitate at the thought of something new. But if I just fix it, he will enthusiastically try it!
My favorite new recipe is Chicken with Olives… I wasn't sure about it but was tempted anyway. It's AWESOME and he loved it….and has requested it several times.

Hershiesgirl you are so right! If I ask then the new ideas get shot down immediately, so I have to sneak things up on them. lol I have one won't eat chicken, so I try to make chicken when he is away, then another won't eat mexican, so on and on it goes.. I love recipes and cooking normally so I have sites I go to, books I read, and recipes I hord too, lol, but I'm just washed up… I'm out of ideas. I think I need a vacation… haha, a real one where there are no meals to prepare for or clean up after.. haha in my dreams. haha

It doesn't require an expensive camera. All of my posted pictures are taken with a Fujifilm z33 camera that I bought at Best Buy for about a hundred dollars.
Ross Do you have to do a lot of adjusments and settings with this camera?
I bought one that just drove me nuts trying to get it to work :( It was over 150.00

Ross, your picture is beautiful. Is there anything you can't do? You seem to have all the bases covered. Your breakfast rolls looked good enough to eat right off the monitor screen!

Change of subject but giving credit where it is due. In early January I ordered a meat grinder from Cabelas and it came in reasonable time. It looked just like all of the meat grinders I have seen of the hand cranked variety. I made about five pounds of sausage and discovered a defect that rendered it useless. I called customer service and told them of the problem and they agreed to exchange it for another unit and to pay the shipping both ways. Today I received the replacement and it seems to be in perfect order.
