It's cold!  It's about 20 right now, but it got down around 13 or so overnight.  Haha  We had a fire in the fireplace last night so the flue was open all night.  The poor heater was working overtime all night trying to replace all the warm air that was leaving through the chimney.  It was kind of chilly in here!

We're at a whopping 41* but no sun.  All my pretty snow is melting!  Unfortunaltely, it gets into the 20's at night, so we have lots of ice!  But, we have nowhere to go, so the weather can do what it wants!   Happy Feet

Snow, snow, and more snow.  Has warmed up to the 20s though. Sun was out for awhile this morning and it felt so good (as I brushed the snow off my car).

I can so relate to Suzanne's and driving in the darn snow.   I just hate it. Hissy Fit

It got up to 33 here as well today.  It's dropped back down into the twenties now, with a low expected of 22 tonight.  Better now that we have the furnace fixed…

Lake Michigan is keeping us warm…………23 here, negatives inland!  Sure do love my lake, until the lake effect!  Warm up is expected here tomorrow here, too!  I live at the top of a ravine, all that snow can run right down it!

It's, uh, hmmm, errrr, grrrr, snowing here…

Got out for a while yesterday.  It took two runs at my driveway to get out onto the road, which I did eventually – sideways!  Much easier getting down the driveway than up it.  I'm not really fond of sliding down the road sideways, but I was going so slowly that even downhill the slide was only a few feet.  Low gear in combo with 4-wheel drive is sure nice.  (Yes, you have that picture correct – the driveway goes up hill to a road going down hill.  Can we call this winter sports?)

The water cooler chatter today is that we either just have or are about to break the all time record for consecutive days where the official temp did not get above freezing.  Seems that we have had only 10 hours of above freezing temps this year and they were the first ten hours of the year.

Have not been able to confirm this yet, but it has indeed been unusually cold here.

We have sun and 58*!  A heat wave!  Our snow is melting but creates lots of ice at night!  Walking the dog is very challenging!

We had a good rain here last night with thunder and lightening. It is now 10:30 am and it is up to 54 degrees and there is blue sky and puffy white clouds. The foothills are a nice, bright green here in the Mother Lode.

We did have snow here last month for 1 day, and here is a picture to prove it. It was pretty while it lasted.

I know you all in the east are probably tired of it, but out here it is a wonder.

Hey Pete-With your crazy drive-way you could have the Winter Olympics at your place! We moved to our place about 3 years ago ,it drifts sometimes-but hubby opens it up with the John Deere and we are good to go! Nothing to make my heart flutter like your driveway. Do you wear a crash helmet? My son is starting a racetrack at our farm here this year-come up -you have alot of experience and alot more fun!Shimmy

Teehee, Alanna!  That is pretty much how I feel about it.  This is more snow than I have ever seen in this driveway, at least for an extended period of time.  It's much better than the ice we have had, so I'm not really complaining.

We are so grateful for the cooperating neighbors who take care of each other.  Everyone pitches in with the equipment they have and everything seems to get done for all of us.

Well you are lucky! Our ex-best friend in a beautiful $500,000 house started a neighborhood coalition against us because of my son putting a small micro-sprint racetrack on our farm. He used to come over and plow our driveway out and help my husbandv with alot of the chores on our farm. So now most of the neighbors signed this paper against the track and have signs in their front yards. It really hurts to see these signs in our neighbors yard-we have no zoning-so I don't know how this is going to turn out. So,I guess my husband as long as his cancer is being treated and he can manage it will do our driveway himself.Happy Feet

That is a pretty picture Grace, especially if you don't see snow too often.  I on the other hand am one of those a little tired of it just now. I acutally like snow very much though, so while I'm a bit sick of it, was admiring how pretty the trees are just this afternoon.

I spent some of my favorite times in Anchorage Alaska, and I loved every bit of it, winter and summer… ok, the springtime is a bit messy, but still.  The difference here is that Ohio winters tend to be damp and cold, which makes them yuckier even though they're shorter.

So, they're predicting a thaw starting tomorrow here, and I'm going to be happy to see it but I don't have any doubt that in another week I'll be wishing it would snow again.  Good thing the weather here changes often!

There is lots more snow up in the Sierras, if we want to see more, but down here at about 1000 feet, it is rare.

Today, it is blue skies and lots of green….There is a whole flock of meadow larks in our back yard this morning. Their song is so pretty – spring can't be far away!
