I have about 4 cups of peach juice (I steam juice my peach peelings when i’m making jams and I got this much juice.) now I’m trying to figure out what to do with it…could I add some sugar and water and make like a syrup that could be added later to lemonaide? And if I can, how would I do it. 1:1 sugar water with how much juice? Right now it’s frozen, because I’m going to wind up with about that much again after I get done with my next box of peaches (for peach pie filling and bourbon peach jam). Thanks for any ideas. (oh and I’ve mashed the steamed peels and bits of fruit think I’m going to use it in a peach bbq sauce.)

My what a TERRIBLE problem!  ~ laugh ~ I don’t know if I’d sweeten it myself, and 1:1 sugar water is a simple syrup which I keep in my fridge to sweeten iced drinks anyway…  so I maybe freezing full strength in ice cube trays would give the option to flavor and sweeten independently.  You could also make peach jelly out of it!

I know it’s not a terrible problem.  but I was trying to figure out something to do with it. I thought about the jelly idea, but hadn’t settled there because I already have a bunch of jam, but I get closer and closer to making the jelly….I just wondered if there was an “out there” kind of idea i hadn’t thought of yet.

Could you make some country or balloon wine with the juice? Sounds like there is enough to make a gallon or so. There are recipes on Farm Bell for various wine making techniques.

I think peach jelly sounds yummy, but so does the peach simple syrup. If I were going to do that I would use 1 cup sugar to 1 cup of your peach juice. Simple syrup is sugar/water 1:1, so you would just be substituting the peach juice for the water. I think it would be great added to iced tea.

I (sorta) have a farm in Africa.

Oh Cyndi!  I meant terrible~wonderful!  Not in any critical way!  Our sarcastic side here can get a little out of hand if you don’t know us I guess.  snuggle

No ‘out there’ ideas from me I guess, but it sure sounds like a few folks have some good ones, I can’t actually think of any bad ideas to use this for!

No worries, BuckeyeGirl. I didn’t take it that you were being mean – I got the humor – but then it really is kind of a first world problem, so I made a very lame attempt a humor back and I missed the mark.  I think I’m going to do some jelly and make some concentrate with it…I really can’t think of anything else.  But that’s my weekend project!

Have a great day.

I would probably have already eliminated the “problem” by simply drinking the evidence.  Adding a shot of something optional.   smiley-rabbit

You could add some to vanilla ice cream and make a peach milkshake! A friend of mines Mom used to make peach pancake syrup and it was wonderful but I don’t have any idea how to make it.
