WHAT French bread recipe??

I am planning on trying to make bread today and …..I haven’t made French bread in over 20 yearsfrench

That is my basic bread recipe. It should be made often in small batches because it is so good when completely fresh. If you leave some of the dough in the mixing bowl, just what sticks to the sides, and add half of the water for the recipe and a third of the flour and stir it to scrape off the left over dough you will get a French preferment by the next day and then you continue with the recipe as you would starting from the beginning. The preferment enhances the taste of the wheat.
