Here’s our new baby! I’m already anticipating the day she has a kid herself, as her father is a special breed dairy goat, rare in these parts. Ordinarily, one can only get about a cup or 2 of milk a day from the “usual” breed we have. We’ll have to wait and see what this one can produce.

I’m not sure, except that it is a milking breed. Probably European, possibly a German breed. We sort of have 2 kinds of livestock here; indigenous African breeds and European types, which are rare, having been imported during colonial times. The indigenous varieties are hardier and more able to withstand drought conditions, but less productive.

I (sorta) have a farm in Africa.
