I was just curious if anyone out there had water buffalo for livestock.

I know that there are some being raised in the US, and they are definitely an animal that interests us.  They're supposed to be very mild-tempered (in fact, in India children who are too young to do other farm chores are given the water buffalo as their responsibility), the milk is allegedly creamy, mildly sweet and divine for making cheese hungry, and they are also supposed to be very efficient foragers and feed converters.

So…anyone ever had any or heard anything about them from someone who does? moo

I know there is a cheese maker in BC that has a herd of Water Buffalo

Here is their website:

Also, there is a herd in Ontario.

I hope this helps.
