I guess I’m accustomed to the instantaneous posting in FB. This moderation period seems quite cumbersome. Are we worried about something?

Hey Debbie, I’m sorry if you have been left in moderation a bit longer than is normal, that is odd but it happens.  Usually after one or two ‘normal’ posts people get approved to post freely without moderation really fast, but we do mess up now and then.  You are now in ‘unmoderated’ status.  Looking at the history, I kinda think your posts were just spread out enough that we didn’t pick up on them quick enough.  I apologize for that and I’ll try to be more alert in the future for the sake of other new members.   I know I didn’t see this post today as early as I wish I did because I had to run out really early this morning.  It’s the human touch that both helps and hinders sometimes I suppose.

We have a lot of people who join, but don’t post for a year or more, we still wait to see the tenor of posts before granting full access… there were a few surprises before we started doing things this way. bug-eyed  There’s absolutely nothing personal meant by it, 99.999% of the people who want to post are perfectly lovely and we want to hear from them all and value their contributions.  We do it this way because we like our members so much, we don’t want to subject any of them to the .001% who no one really wants to be exposed to.  And then there are all the really annoying spammy things that try to get posted via China etc.  They seem to be robo posts, and the filter catches most of these, but still a few would get through if we didn’t actually have to physically review posts via the moderation method.  Most of those aren’t objectionable, just stupid.   So, no, we’re not overly worried about much, just trying to keep things nicer for our members.

Again, I’m sorry that you were stuck in moderation longer than was necessary, we try not to let that happen, but it does.  BuckeyeGirl  a.k.a. Deb K.

No problem. I’m glad you explained as I was thinking that every comment is moderated and wondered how conversations EVER take place here.  I went to bed last night thinking that I would be able to make one comment per day. surprised
