Pictured: Pear Ambrosia Conserve. I made this last December, some for me, some for gifts. (See the cranberry and popcorn garland. I was working on decorations for our Christmas tree at the time.) It’s not too early to prepare for your holiday baskets, and it’s a delicious treat any time of year. If you’ve got pears put up in the freezer or pantry, or are getting pears in right now (or soon), try it!

Back to the BBB–one of these days, I’m going to sit down and actually count (from my master list of donors) how many Ball Blue Books have been given away. I’ve been doing this for about 9 months now, usually one a week, sometimes more. I’m guessing it’s somewhere on the order of at least 40 homecanning “bibles” so far have made it into the hands of people who want to can. I have many more to come. I’m so glad I can do this and I want to thank all the donors who make it possible week after week.
