OH MY!!!! Those are some beautiful, yummy looking jars! I am truly a beginner when it comes to canning. Last year our apple tree did very well and I made some apple sauce. This year there was a late frost that seriously took a toll on our apple crop… no apple sauce this year. I would love to be a winner of the BBB to expand my canning abilities.

You and the Blue Ball Book have been inspirational. :sun:

So far this summer, I’ve made and canned 12 quarts of mesquite smoked tomatoes, four kinds of plum jam, peach preserves, spiced peach halves and, last night, I made 18 half pints of spicy salsa using mesquite roasted ripe jalapenos.

Think of what I could do if only I had a BLUE BALL BOOK of my very own! :hungry:

Although my late mother-in-law canned extensively, I am a flat out noviec. Both my fiance and I are out of work and I needed to make some extra money, so I am making jams that I sell at the local farmers market. At the farmers market there is such an abundance of things for a reasonable price and I would love to have the BBB so I can try to save some of those delicious things for later in the year! I made this cranberry sauce last Thansgiving, and it was fabulous.
It keeps well in the fridge if you dont want to can it, try some on the cold leftover turkey and stuffing sandwitches on home made bread.
Great with all those hearty winter food we love chicken, pork etc. Use it as jam on toasted bread or nice hot biscuits with fresh butter.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
