Clover’s Giving Away Books!

Jun
15

Several months ago, an old romance writer friend wrote me to tell me she’d written a book with cookie-eating goats, inspired by Clover. I thought right away that this was a book you all would be interested in hearing about and I asked her if she would be willing to give away some autographed copies here. Lucky for us, she said yes, so today I’m excited to tell you that I have three autographed copies of Welcome Home, Cowboy by Karen Templeton to give away to you!

Or, to let Clover give away, actually. It’s her honor. I asked my dearest goat how it felt to have inspired a book.

Clover: “I’ve had stars in the sky named after me. My face has launched ships. So now I’ve inspired a book. Another day, another inspiration. What do you expect?”

I think she was actually pretty excited, but she just didn’t want to say so. You know how she is.

The goats in Karen Templeton’s Welcome Home, Cowboy are angora goats, and she also has her very own Giant Puppy in the story, this one named Bumble.

Back cover copy:

At a crossroads in his career, country singer Cash Cochran only means to make things right between him and an old buddy when he returns to his stomping grounds in New Mexico. Except Lee is dead, leaving behind a debt-ridden, pregnant widow determined to hang onto the small farm carved out of what’s left of Cash’s family ranch. But while Emma Manning does need help, for damn sure the strong, spiritually-grounded redhead doesn’t need pity…and what she has threatens to undermine everything Cash has believed about himself since he was a boy.

The last thing Emma needs is somebody else to worry over. However, when an obviously penitent Cash offers his labor to help with the farm’s spring planting/mending/tending, not only is she not in a position to refuse, but how can she not at least try to mend the deep-seated hurt she sees in those famous silver eyes? Only, once the planting’s done and her baby’s born, will Cash return to the only thing that “saved” him from his father’s cruelty so many years before…or will Emma be able to convince him where home truly is?

You can read an excerpt of the book here.

And you can buy the book now here at eHarlequin. (The book will hit store stands the last week of JUNE.)

And be sure to visit Karen at her website here.

I’m going to leave this contest open for two days to give more people a chance to enter. For a chance to win one of the three autographed copies of Welcome Home, Cowboy: Leave a comment on this post and let me know you want to win. Three winners will be drawn by random comment numbers to each receive a book. Eligible entry cut-off is midnight Eastern (U.S.) time tomorrow night (Wednesday, June 16). This post will be updated with the winner by 9 a.m. Eastern (U.S.) time Thursday (June 17). Return to this post to see if you won.

Okay, who wants the cookie-eating goats book? They’re burning a hole in Clover’s pocket! She’s gotta give ’em away!

UPDATE 06/17/10: The winners, drawn by random.org, are #63, Kim Griggs, # 8, Leah, and #58, Carol. Email me at CITRgiveaways(at)aol.com with your full name and address for shipping!
