Funded!

Feb

Another good news story–the chickens are mostly staying in the barnyard and barn now!

Yesterday was unbelievable! I never imagined that my Kickstarter project would actually meet its funding goal yesterday! I am in shock! But not in so much shock that I can’t keep using a lot of exclamation points!!!

Please hang in with me and watch it until March 3. It will be funded officially on Saturday, March 3 at 11:37 a.m. EST. Pledges are not actually charged until then. Early on, a sizable pledge was cancelled, which has made me nervous ever since. And I do understand that life happens. (Maybe their plumbing broke!) Perhaps something significant happened in this person’s personal life to change their circumstances. (I didn’t recognize the name as one of my readers here, so it may have been someone browsing through on Kickstarter and they simply changed their mind. I don’t know.) In any case, it did make me aware of the fact that I could be funded, and then suddenly not funded, and the project won’t be entirely safe until 11:38 a.m. on March 3. (Some degree of over-funding would be a buffer against last-minute disaster.)

Meanwhile, I’m excited and optimistic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my handy construction team, Matt and Dave, scheduled to come back to work on the studio starting the third week of March. I asked them to clear the decks and work straight through till they finish! It will be two weeks after the close of the project on March 3 before the funding is released to me, which is why I scheduled them to start the third week of March. Starting on March 3, I will be contacting each and every one of you to go over the rewards and your individual choices, and also to check the name you want used on my “studio angels” page on my website as well as on the studio wall. Also, some people have already indicated to me that they prefer to not be named, so I will be confirming that also before using anyone’s name anywhere.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I am just still shocked and overwhelmed and excited beyond belief. The studio is going to happen!!!! You did it! I am amazed over and over at the incredible support that you give to me, in so many ways. I’m justawriter (and usually get more credit than I deserve). You are the ones who make this website and make this community. Thank you more than I can express.

I canNOT believe that happened yesterday!!!

I let out a shreak when I read the word “funded”.
I have been saying a prayer every day that you reach your pledged funding goal. You helped yourself get the monies for the studio project…your request was well-worded and the accompaning farm photos helped visualize all that the revamped studio would add to Sassafras Farm.

Suzanne, I don’t know anyone who is more deserving. I’m hoping people continue to donate until the cut-off time. A little extra money would be good to have for those problems that might arise when the work starts.

Now you know, for sure, that you are LOVED!!!

Suzanne, I am so happy for you. I donated what I could in the hopes of selfishly using your kitchen studio in the future by attending some of your workshops!
Congratulations – as you can see, even in the toughest times, people do come together for a good cause.

Suzanne, I just went to the site and donated, I think? I logged in using Face Book and I never got any confirmation or anything. So not sure I did it right. Were there other steps? I was going to start a Kickstarter account and it was going to Amazon. Then I saw the FB sign in so went there. So please let me know if it worked. I guess we don’t pay til after March 3rd? Is that why I didn’t have to do any credit card stuff? Just checking. I so want to help. And I am SO excited for you too!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, and I have been waiting for my tax refund to get here to see where I stand financially and haven’t even pledged yet! But, I got it today, figured out the bills I’m behind on, scheduled the puppies for their shots and their daddy to get neutered, ordered the computer my hubby wanted……and now I can give a donation! Woohoo! I do plan a trip to visit you someday soon to see how it all turned out.

Yippey Skippy ! The amazon account goes to my husband’s email and last night he asked me ” DO I know a sassafrass farm? ( meaning him) I said no, but I do ..that is Suzanne… Then I had to proceed to explain who you “are” … I said “you know …the lady that has the goat named clover” Then it all clicked…..he “knew ” who clover was….I figured for all the laughs you have given me it was a little something I could do to repay YOU. So glad it all worked out.

“Outbackfarm” it will take you to Amazon, that’s where I paid with credit card and the email confirmation is immediate. I don’t know about Facebook, maybe that was a mis-direction. There will be two email messages. One for Kickstart and one from Amazon for confirmation. Good luck.

Hurrah! Here’s one person still planning on donating even though you are funded. It just seems like something has happened every week that I planned on sending my (very tiny) donation in. But man proposes, God disposes. Hoping to get it in within the eight days left.

I’m so happy to be here with all of the rest of you guys! L-Blue!!! All those ‘very tiny’ donations are NOT at ALL tiny when they get together with the rest of the other ‘tiny’ donations. They become HUGE when they’re gathered together with the rest of their friends! Watching all the donations add up to a wonderful outcome has made me so happy and encouraged me in a lot of ways.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
