The Nightstand Challenge

I ordered this cute little nightstand over a week ago. Delivery was delayed because of the weather, but the UPS man finally showed up yesterday. Of course, it’s in a box, in pieces. Pieces that need to be put together. This is so not my forte. When it’s put together, it’s supposed to look like this. (That is the link to the nightstand on Amazon, where I ordered it.)

It’s cute, isn’t it? Did you look? Very inexpensive also, which was a key element in my shopping choice along with cute.

It can’t be that complicated, right? Putting things together, like math, is not my thing. My brain just doesn’t work that way. But I’ve decided that surely I can do this. I’m snowed in. What else do I have to do? I will report back tomorrow! With either a nightstand all put together or my brain in pieces along with the nightstand!

I wish I was there, I could put that together in a flash. I really like putting things together. Of course I also put in 2 toilets, 3 faucets, a sink, a garbage disposal and a medicine cabinet on my own. I like DYI. :sheepjump:

You can do it! There may even be directions in the box or on the box. Looking forward to seeing it all set up. I looked it up on Amazon…cute!

What a nice looking nightstand! I think you can do it, Suzanne, it looks pretty straightforward, the key is to take your time and keep looking at the picture of the finished item.

Good luck! Get Precious to help. :snoopy:

    Hi Suzanne,
I don’t write often and never have any good advice for you but want you to know how much I enjoy your blogs every day. Miss you when you aren’t here….so pleased when you are….feel bad for your problems…and love reading about your life. Hope things smooth out for you soon. Hang in there. Love from me…here in Illinois. We are sort of Central Ill. and haven’t had the huge snows…even less than you down south….but it sure is COLD!
    Think Spring !!!

You can do it! It is a really cute nightstand and the price is great!

And wonderful news that UPS made the delivery! If they can get in, you can get out!

You can do it! Just go slow and read all the directions first once through. I’m just procrastinating about putting together a big desk chair for myself. But I think I’ll be able to do it if I go slow. My husband is useless at this sort of thing, so I’ve got to take care of putting things together and fixing stuff.

First make sure you have all the pieces, including the screws, present and identified correctly.

Assembly is my forte. Wish I were there to do it for you.

Very cute and you sure can’t beat the price! Glad to see that it all came together so easily for you!

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
