A.R., After Retreat, time period occurring immediately after the birth of a big event.

I have convinced myself, with some undue pressure and smacking, to take some time off. I never take time off. Well, I’m not exactly totally taking time off now either, but I’m planning to reduce my postings for the next several weeks. I will still be posting every day on the Daily Farm page to keep you updated on the happenings at Stringtown Rising, but will be limiting “big” posts on the main blog to two or three times a week while I recharge, work on other projects, and possibly take a few naps.

Thanks for bearing with me!

Can’t imagine why you might need a breather!! Enjoy your time off. πŸ™‚

  2. Glenda says:

You are due for a break. Just be warned; the longer you don’t blog, the harder it is to get back in the swing of things. I have done it myself.

But after the retreat is a special time; enjoy every minute of the non-blogging! Just live your happy country life.

  3. Barbee says:

I’m not surprised you need some rest. If I had done all you did, I’d be in bed for a week! Enjoy your break and the good memories.

  4. CATRAY44 says:

Have a good “rest”! (I know you will still be a busy lady!)

  5. twiggityNDgoats says:

Please take some time to relax. Just keeping a farm going is enough let alone doing all the other things you do.

  6. Miss Judy says:

All I can say is…”IT”S ABOUT TIME!” However, after a few light days I am sure those little wheels in your brain will start turning…
Enjoy this wonderful time of the year.

Dear Suzanne, you deserve to have a break. Knowing you, new inspirations will pop into your mind. An idea to share with all of us. Sit on the front porch, go on a jaunt and do something just for yourself.

  10. NancyL says:

Thank God! I was beginning to think you were Superwoman, or Bionic Woman, or maybe even Suzanne and 6 clones! I don’t know how you manage to DO it all, then WRITE about it all, every day! Many, many times a day! Please find some time to sit in a rocker on the porch and watch your goaties and donkeys and chickens!!!

Enjoy some time off. You need it. Sitting on the porch sounds good. We will all cross our fingers and wish all the animals will behave for you so you only have egg gathering to do. Oh, and milking. And feeding and a little more of the last canning and freezing and….
Isn’t there a strong teenager around there that can help?

Ladies, I’m laying odds three to one that she is back to blogging blogging too, by the end of the week. πŸ˜‰

Seriously, Suzanne, do the very best that you can to restore your energy. You surely, surely do deserve it.

  18. Angela P says:

Good to hear. Rest is good for us all. I think you and 52 need to take a couples day off. Or two or three. Just the two of you πŸ˜‰

  19. whaledancer says:

Good farmers know that leaving a field fallow periodically increases its productivity. I’m glad you’re giving yourself some rest and renewal. I hope you take some time to enjoy the farm you’ve worked hard to build, some time to sit and watch autumn creep over the hills. Then when you’re back it posting, it will be because you have something you’re excited to share, and you’ll be able to enjoy it more when it’s not a “must do” chore.

On the days that you don’t do a long post, I’ll picture you spending time with your family and animals, doing some baking, maybe having a glass of wine or a cup of cocoa on the porch and cogitating.

  20. Sonia says:

You go Big Chicken Sister :)) Take that much needed rest, walk the hills and woods..listen to the breeze blow thru the trees and all that makes you feel that tingely happiness inside!!

  21. rileysmom says:

  22. yvonnem says:

Well, I have to say I will miss you not posting as much, but I know you deserve a good long rest after all the work you did on the retreat, and on top of everything else you do! You have to take care of yourself.
