Last Minute Gift Ideas!

Recently, someone made an order for an address about 15 minutes away. Instead of shipping it, I stopped by on the way to the post office and delivered to a very sweet older lady. I really enjoyed giving the box directly to the recipient, plus when I got home, I was able to refund the shipping cost to the buyer. Who was so pleased that she placed another order for another nearby address. I delivered that box today, to a very sweet older man, who came to the door very excited to tell me that he knew who I was, he’d read my book, and he knew what was coming in the box! I talked to him for several minutes then gave him a hug and went on my way. I really enjoyed that, too! Not that I want to run around all over creation hand-delivering, but in this case, the addresses were very close, and it was very rewarding to actually give the gift directly to the recipients.

When I came home, I had this new review posted on my Etsy shop. It was from someone who had ordered pepperoni rolls as a gift. “I got these as an early Christmas present for my dad, who’s from West Virginia and loves pepperoni rolls, and he literally started crying when he opened the box. Thank you so much he loved them!” That was SO NICE. That is my favorite review EVER. When people are so happy to receive, it makes it so satisfying to create things for them.

Meanwhile, when I was at the post office today (shipping 8 packages!), I asked if they expected to be on track for priority mail deliveries next week. They told me, yes, they expected to be on schedule next week. That means I can ship through Wednesday for 3-day zones (from me), Thursday for 2-day zones, and Friday (for West Virginia locations) and still get boxes delivered before Christmas. It’s not too late to order if you’re still looking!

How about authentic West Virginia pepperoni rolls? They come in 12 large or 24 mini rolls.
Get them here. This is my top-selling, most insanely popular item. I’m making pepperoni rolls every day.

Or Dilly Bread?
Or a Biscuit of the Month Club?
Or Muffin of the Month?
Biscuit of the Month or Muffin of the Month come in 3, 6, 9, or 12 month subscription choices, and the price INCLUDES shipping for the duration. You can also choose the varieties your recipient receives each month. Varieties include sweet and savory options like Cherry Almond, Cranberry Orange Pecan, Blueberry Lemon, Cinnamon Raisin, Fruit Medley, Blue Gouda & Pepper, Pepperoni and Mozzarella, Onion & Chives, Roasted Garlic, and the list goes on and ON. You can choose the varieties, or tell me to send them a random choice each month. Your gift begins with a gift announcement letter printed on my lovely shop letterhead, which can be either sent to you to give to your recipient yourself, or for me to mail to the recipient directly. For Christmas orders, the letter will be sent immediately on order, and the first shipment will be sent starting in January.

Or how about Molasses Cookies? (These are amazing.)
Or some Butterfinger goat’s milk fudge?

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
