Herb & Onion Cheeseball Bites

These cheeseball bites are so cute and such an easy way to serve a cheeseball in mini individual sizes. No mess with cutting into a big cheeseball, and so fun to just grab and go with some crackers at a party or holiday gathering! You can poke a toothpick in each ball if you like to make them easy to pick up from a party tray.

Make this using two 8 ounce packages of cream cheese–all one flavor or split up the cream cheese packages to serve two different flavors. Two 8 ounce packages of cream cheese will make about two dozen cheeseball bites. Make them in advance and store in a closed container in the fridge. Cheeseball bites keep well, if you can keep them!

My favorite flavor is herb and onion, so you’ll find the recipe below for herb and onion cheeseball bites using two 8 ounce packages.

Herb & Onion Cheeseball Bites

Fun party cheeseball bites!

Suzanne McMinn

Makes 12 servings

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 8-ounce packages cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons dried dill
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans or peanuts

Directions

  1. Open cream cheese packages and place cream cheese in a bowl, covered. Let sit to come to room temperature.
  2. Add seasonings and mash seasonings into the cream cheese using a fork. When well mixed, cover bowl and put in the fridge for an hour to firm up the cream cheese. Meanwhile, pulse nuts in a food processor and set aside.
  3. Take bowl out of fridge. Using a spoon, take out spoonfuls of the cheeseball mixture and place on parchment paper. Each spoonful should make a 1 1/2 inch cheeseball bite. You should have about 24 spoonfuls. Shape each spoonful into a ball. Roll in nuts to coat. Store in a closed container in the fridge until serving time.
