Jack and Poky in Watercolor

Jul

Look at that! This watercolor was painted by 14-year-old self-taught artist, Lauren, of Gluten Go Bye Bye. (She is the daughter of Farm Bell blog contributor Patrice.) I think that is amazing! Here is the original photo that inspired the watercolor:

Here is Lauren:

What a talented girl. (And beautiful!)

Wow! I am impressed! That is truly amazing, for anyone, especially for one so young! That girl has talent! I hope she is doing somehing with it that will last into adulthood.

Please don’t stop being an artist when life gets in the way. Its easy to be distracted by other things, but this is important and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Hang onto it and keep developing that talent! You’ll need it to keep your sanity throughout. You are really, really good!

WOW–WOW–WOW–WOW–WOW My husband called me in, said he had something really special to show me. Lauren is gifted. We all have our talents that God has given us. I think it is wonderful that she has found watercolors, singing, and cooking. What is next. One of these days I might find my talent. (just kidding)Aunt Lolo

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
