Buttercup! Please don’t turn your back on us. I recommended the name Rosemary, so you see….your name is safe with me. You are a very handsome orange tabby. Buttercup, I’m sending you a virtual scratch behind the ears. Love you!

I suggested Beulah or Millicent. Those are Cow names. Buttercup is a special name for a sweet kitty-cat like you. Don’t be hurt.

I suggest the new cow be called Isabella…….She’s older, more mature, regal………Plus, I think Clover needs to share the tiara.

Oh no, Buttercup is a CAT name, please don’t turn away little kitty. You are the cutest, sweetest little Buttercup imaginable. I think a cow name is Mabel or Ida or Izzy or even Lily! But NOT Buttercup! Could we have a little purr now?

Dear Buttercup CAT,
They didn’t mean to offend. You are lucky to get such a fine name as Buttercup. You could have been named OC for orange cat or Creamsickle or Dot a Lot. No one could forget such a fine CAT as you.
I remain thinking “Sweet Caroline” is a proper name for a cow, certainly not for a CAT.
Your friend,

I have a Tigger that looks just like Buttercup! He doesn’t like to be ignored either . . . but he gets over it when I feed him his favorite foods! Maybe a special treat for Buttercup would help? Oh, and for the name of the new cow – how about Jersey? She’s beautiful! Congrats!

Oh Buttercup… there could only be 1 Buttercup, so don’t worry you are safe. I like the name Olivia myself. I have a cat and his name is Buckwheat, but you are prettier than him.

Buttercup is NOT a cow’s name. It is an orange and white kitty cat’s name! (I should know, we have cat named Buttercup too!)

Carol, too says:
Speaking of cat names reminded me of one of my favorite poems:
Some of the cats I know about
Spend a little time in and a lot of time out.
Or a lot of time out and a little time in.
But my cat, Mrs.Lick-a-chin,
Never knows where shewants to be.
If I let her in she looks at me
and begins to sing that she wants to go out.
So I open the door and she looks about
and begins to sing, “Please let me in!”
Poor silly Mrs. Lick-a chin!
The thing about cats, as you may find,
is that no one knows what they have in mind.
And I’ll tell you something about that,
no one knows it less than my cat.

I always thought that if I had a cow, I’d give her a nice oldfashioned name like TANSY.

I wish I could have thought of this in time to make the list, but alas, is it too late?! I think Charlotte is a nice, dignified, pretty name for a mother cow.

Why no, Buttercup, you look nothing like a cow. As a matter of fact as I considered cow names Buttercup never came up…Tippy, Mertle, Maxine, Maggie, Whoosh-Whoosh (the sound of milk in the can according to a three year old), But no not Buttercup. It’s not even a cow name!
I vote Buttercup for a an orange cat. Would you know someone who would like to keep that name?

Townie Farm Girl says:
Instead of naming the cow Buttercup, you should name her Daisycup…then shorten to D-cup, which would probably be more her size than B-cup! ***smile***

Cindy said the name should be Miss Mae, and since that is my author name, Google alerts reported my name had been used. I just had to come over and see what was going on! LOL
Really cute blog here. 🙂
