There came a day when we had this awesome stump.
And the awesome stump sat around for awhile and then!
Look at that!
Suddenly everyone’s giving me hens and chicks lately. I love hens and chicks. I didn’t have any. Now I have ’em all over the place! And I love them in this stump best of all.
I love how they’re nestled into little nooks all over it. Might drill some holes to add even more!

What a neat idea Suzanne! I love this! I had a large stump that my husband drilled out and I planted wave petunias in it. The flowers looked so pretty against the weathered wood.
I’ll be trying this with the chicks and hens! 🙂 :happypuppy:

I love this! What a great idea! I am definitely going to try it in the spring with a couple pieces of driftwood. (If we ever see bare ground again that is)

That’s a great place to put hens & chicks, Suzanne. Love the idea! Mine are in 2-strawberry pots…I’ve had them for years. Hubby puts the pots in the garage for the winter months (Michigan-zone 5) and we put them out in the spring. I love my hens & chicks, too.

I love this idea! I have them in a very dry corner of my yard, and they’ve spread like wildfire. I don’t really have a rock garden, but the stump is just as good, and we might even have one laying around! They bloom every once in a while, too, which is really cool. I hope you show more pictures as they grow.

My favorite past time is looking on the beach for unique drift wood to hold my Hens & chics, sedum

Your Hens and Chicks log is wonderful and is only going to get better with time 😀 I love Hens and Chicks too and have found a very cute way to share them. I use a cardboard egg carton, place a little potting soil in each cup and then put a little “Chick” on top, tie with a cute ribbon and you have an instant gift. :wave:

I love your log. I love love Kathy’s idea of chicks in an egg carton as a gift. The best is for us here who are still under 3 feet of snow to get a glimps of spring. You know when the snow melts off my hen and chicks will be waiting for me. Again thanks Suzanne for sharing what you share.
