My Little Winner!

She won first place in her division and category in the school social studies fair, then last night she was awarded first place in the county social studies fair for her John Morgan Dye project! Go, Morgan!!! She was the only child at the awards ceremony who not only ran but BOUNCED up to take her certificate. She is so shy……

If she looks a little fakey with that smile, it’s because she was disappointed that although she won, her overall score was four points short of qualifying to go to the state social studies fair in May. Let’s find those judges in the parking lot and run over them with a truck!! I’M JUST KIDDING.

But she’s not…..

    Morgan ROCKS!!! :bananadance:
Did I ever tell you I’m connected? No Kidding. If you want, I’ll send my Uncles Patsy and Dominic to have a “talk” with those judges. They’d be more than happy to do it for you. One phone call, and the Caddy makes a road trip………:whip:
Seriously, what a proud momma moment!!! I am happy for you both!
(and my Uncle Patsy and Uncle Dom and both well into their 70’s and very sweet Italian men!)

Wow, Morgan. That’s really wonderful. Congratulations! It’s too bad that you didn’t advance further. As long as you know you did your best, you know it isn’t your fault: it depends on the criteria of the judges. It’s hard to come so close but it’s true that we all have to learn to take disappointments. I’m glad you’re dealing with it well.

I got third place at the county social science fair when I was in 6th grade. My project was on the Pony Express.
