I took this photo near the old family cemetery in Stringtown. It’s an old wooden oil tank, the kind put in place before metal tanks came into use. The barrel is held together by iron rings and moisture. (According to Jerry, who had to explain this to me, the moisture swells the wood and prevents leaks.)

TFS the old oil tank picture. My grandfather and great grandfather were coopers and made tanks like that.
