I think Morgan planned it. She so enjoys being featured in your blog, but she wasn’t sure just having her fourteenth birthday would be enough to get you to take photos of her ALL DAY LONG. So she thought to herself “how can I get Mom to take pictures of me ALL DAY LONG? Hmmm, maybe if I had an accident I could REALLY be the FOCUS OF ATTENTION!”

And then she jumped.

And now she’s immortalized, once again, as the FEATURE of an ENTIRE blog entry. 22 pictures of her (plus one of just the cake!) and hardly any text.

YOU’RE A STAR, MORGAN! Happy birthday, Miss Star! And heal up quick. They need you on the basketball court!

Morgan, you can only jump off stairs that are outside with soft grass or hay beneath you. When I was fourteen I jumped from the second level landing at my uncle’s horse barn in Alabama. The stairs were outside. The ground is clay there, so not so soft lol. But it only knocked the wind out of me.

She broke her foot, by the way, not her leg–they had to do the cast up her leg to keep her foot immobile while it heals. She broke it a while back, actually, but just yesterday got in at the orthopedist to get it casted. (Yesterday was her birthday. Day off school to get a cast!) And the phone in one picture is her birthday present–new cell phone.

Nic, she LOVES Coke in the glass bottle! There is a little store right outside our town on the way to the interstate that sells Coke in glass bottles and whenever we stop there she runs in to get one!

I remember summers on a farm outside of Belington and walking miles into town to get “pop” out of the bottles!

Ah, youth! Morgan was doing something adventurous, I on the other hand as an adult broke my heel stepping on an acorn, yep, that’s right, an acorn. Had a cast for six weeks. I was very embarrassed
when people asked how I broke it, and that’s all I had to tell them. Morgan, keep up that adventurous spirit. Happy Birthday!

Awwwwww….give her a big hug and tell her I hope she heals soon!!! Tell her I have the same type of boot on my right foot for a fractured foot, but no cast…and no crutches..I am allowed to weight bear some…
all because I was too aggressive on my treadmill for exercise.

HAPPY Happy birthday to your beautiful daughter. I’m so sorry she has to endure the cast. Just tell her this Ozarks farm chick gained an inch in her bust and lost an inch in her waist when I had to get around college campus with a cast up to the knee! Heeehehe!

I hope that foot heals fast. Meanwhile, looks like she enjoyed that yummy birthday food, even if the trip to the Dr. was no so much fun. Love the lime green cast! Did she get to choose the color? Kinda like the orthadontist lets the kids choose the color of those tiny rubberbands…pastel for Easter, red and white for Christmas, etc.

I think Morgan is a really good sport to put up with mom taking all those photos of her. Wouldn’t it be fun to be able to have the cast wrapped with school colors! – Or, maybe that is. Fourteen is a sweet age, a bit emotional at times, but sweet and I miss them. Now, my baby girls have teenagers of their own.
