Another PAX t-shirt and more autographed books up for grabs today! But first, yesterday’s guessing game. Now–what did I really do on Tuesday? (And the winners are listed below along with the info for today’s giveaway.)

*Started writing and forgot to pick up my daughter from horseback riding lessons.
YES. I DID THIS. I AM A BAD MOTHER. THEY HAD TO CALL ME.:wall:
*Washed the dog and tripped in a hole while chasing him down.
WE HAVE TWO DOGS BUT I WOULDN’T WASH THEM IF THEIR LIVES DEPENDED ON IT!
*Picked a Wal-Mart smilie sticker off my car that my 14-year-old stuck on there.
THIS HAPPENED, BUT NOT ON TUESDAY.
*Wrote 20 pages.
NOT ON TUESDAY.
*Cleaned up cat vomit from my bedroom floor.
MY CAT THREW UP ON THE FLOOR ON TUESDAY, BUT….er….I DIDN’T CLEAN IT UP!
*Picked a Wal-Mart smilie sticker off my car that my 9-year-old stuck on there.
THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED AT ALL.
*Drag-raced my neighbor from the school car line to home.
I DO THIS ALMOST EVERY DAY–BUT I DIDN’T DO IT ON TUESDAY.

Okay, must stop a moment here to explain. My neighbor and I drive to the elementary school first, then the middle school. Whoever gets in the elementary school car line has an edge, but if you’re wily, you can make it up and cut them off on the way to the middle school. You can get an edge again in the middle school car line, then the real race is getting home from there, where you can take a different route, speed, pray for no red lights, cut them off, make it home first. Lots of strategy involved! Whoever gets home first, that child calls the other house and shouts into the phone, “We beat you!” IT’S ALL VERY MATURE. I picked up my kids early on Tuesday, so we didn’t race.

*Wrote 10 pages.
YES! I DID THAT ON TUESDAY!
*Checked the mail in my t-shirt and underwear and got caught by my neighbor.
I DO THIS A LOT AND SOMETIMES GET CAUGHT, BUT NOT ON TUESDAY!
*Lost my keys and found them in my daughter’s closet.
YES! AND THIS REALLY MADE IT HARD TO GO GET HER FROM THE STABLES WHEN THEY CALLED…..

So the correct answers are: 1) forgot my daughter, 2) wrote 10 pages, 3) lost my keys and found them in my daughter’s closet. The winner of the PAX mug (the first person who guessed right) is: LAURIE! And the winner of their pick of an autographed book as runner-up (the only other person who also guessed the correct 3 but wasn’t first) is: LYNN! (If I missed someone else who also guessed the correct 3, tell me! I checked and double-checked, but I might have missed someone.) Laurie and Lynn–email me with your addresses!

TODAY’S GIVEAWAY: For a PAX t-shirt ! (I’ll make this one easier.) Guess how old I was when I sold my first book! The first person to guess right wins the t-shirt . Everyone else who guesses right gets their pick from my backlist of an autographed book. Guess up to 3 times in different comments. You can get some clues from my Bio page–it tells how many children I’d had when I wrote my first book, and my kids are now 9, 12, and 14, and I sold my first book 13 months after I started writing. That should give you a guessing range.

So, how old was I when I sold my first book? :rotfl:

    I can’t guess because I know. Damn it. I wanted a t-shirt.

  11. AngieW says:

  18. Cheyenne McCray says:

Awesome that you sold your first book 18 months after you wrote it! And I’m not guessing because you’re probably something disgusting, like in your 20’s. 😉

    Chey
who’s turning 40 this year. Woohoo!

    third guess is 22:thumbsup:

  37. Danica says:

Um, from all these guesses, I’d say you were waaaayyy too young when you sold your first book. Now I feel old, and am going to have to finish the rest of the chocolate cake I have at home. I’m not sure what that has to do with anything except that it’s a good excuse and this slurpee I’m sucking down is a far cry from what I imagine a fruity f*cker to be like.

  38. Julia says:

Hmmm, I think you were 22 when you sold your first book 🙂

  42. ruby55 says:

    Well, Suzanne!

Great quiz yesterday. My mother often used to shower downstairs, hold only a towel in front of her and go upstairs to her bedroom. On the way, she often opened the front door to get the paper. One morning, I heard a kind of shriek. I ran to the door and there was the paperboy on one side holding the paper with my mother on the other holding only her towel. 😮

As to how old you may have been, I’ll guess 22.

  43. Teresa Balderas says:

    My third guess is 33?

  44. Suzanne says:

LOL on your mother and the towel!!! That would so be me!!!

    Okay, I’m afraid someone is going to guess 12 next. 😯 I swear I wasn’t 12! LOL!

I’ll give you a hint. So far, only ONE person (who has now won the t-shirt!!!) has guessed the right age. Anyone else who guesses the right age will win their pick of an autographed book!!! :bananadance: C’mon! I want to give some books away!!!

  45. Suzanne says:

    My last guess is 22

  49. Nicole says:

    Okay, I vote 20

  50. ruby55 says:

Well, it was kind of funny. The paperboy was about 17 and she was in her 70s.

Do I get 3 guesses now? I’ve had only one.

I’ll give another try at 28.

  51. ruby55 says:

It’s so hard to tell how old people are and you don’t give much away in your bio. You and your husband could be almost any age in that picture and you say nothing about college, working, etc.

You could be like my nephew and his wife: early starters.

    I’ll try 30. 😕

  52. Suzanne says:

Sigrun, I’ll give more clues! I was 18 when I got married….. And I did go to college and have a professional job before I got pregnant, quit, and stayed home to write and be with my babies. Everyone gets four guesses now since I’ve given clues! C’mon! I wanna give books away! :bananadance:

  53. Tammy B. says:
