Comments

  1. Katie says:

Nope, not with another adult – with babies, yes. I think there is lust at first sight but love takes time to grow.

  2. ArmyWifeToddlerMom says:

knew I was going to marry Deah Husband when I saw him at age 15……he didn’t know but I did…….

  3. Estella says:

    Lust but not love.
Would still like to be in the drawing.

  4. Mary says:

Yes, I do. I knew before I met my husband that my life was going to change that day. I even called a friend and told her. Then the moment I saw my husband, I knew we’d fall in love. We were married 4 months later–seventeen years ago. I think intuition tells you who to love if you listen.

  5. Melissa says:

:hyper: I STILL WANT A COPY!

I do believe in love at first sight.

I  my fiance and I  my kitty with all my heart and soul.

  6. Sharon says:

No, I don’t believe in love at first SIGHT. I do however believe in love at first conversation or contact πŸ˜‰ I fell in love with my husband during our first conversation.

But simply staring at someone across the room? No. WHat if he’s a complete idiot when you actually get to speak with him? :footinmouth:

  7. Margery Scott says:

I think you’re instantly drawn to someone. Is that lust – or the beginning of love?

  8. Jan says:

An immediate physical attraction? Oh, yeah. :bananadance: But love at first sight? Nope, and that goes for real life or books. The love-at-first-sight plots are a stretch to buy into, imo.

  9. Melissa Marsh says:

I don’t know if I believe in love at first sight – but I do believe that you just know something is going to happen when you see a person. That’s how it was with my husband – I just knew we’d end up together the first moment I met him. I didn’t know it would end up in marriage, but I’m glad it did!

  10. Carol says:

I agree with everything Jan said. You have to know someone before you can love them.

Please include me in the drawing!

  11. Peggy says:

Gosh, I love hearing all these stories of how couples met and fell in love for the first time. And, Mary, scary but I wrote a similar scene in my book where the hero new his life was about to change that day, just before he met heroine! Cool!

Yeah, I’ve fallen in love at first sight many times. Though never married any one of them! πŸ˜•

  12. Danni says:

It was love at first hello for me and my DH. I’d seen him around our high school, but never spoken to him (rumor had it he was a brute). A year after I graduated (and 2 years after he had) he came in to the pizza place I managed for a 2nd job. I called the boss and told him to hire DH as a driver (though we didn’t need any) and then called my mom to tell her I’d met the man I’d marry. 2 months later (after both mothers and all his sisters had vetted us out)we started dating, and 6 months after that we wed.

  13. Melissa Mc says:

I do. The first time I saw my dh in a meeting at work, I told a co-worker that was the man I was going to marry. Four years later, I did. Of course, I had to first figure out who he was:)

  14. TeresaH says:

Yes! I definitely believe in love at first sight. That’s what happened with me and my SO…and we are still together

  15. Gina says:

I believe in love at first site in both books and in real life. Sometimes you just know. I haven’t experienced it myself, but I know some that have. I’m still interested in a copy.

  16. Amy K. says:

Nope, I believe in lust at first sight but how can you love someone without knowing a THING about them? Love is partly physical, sure, but for me, it’s also intellectual…or something. :hyper:

  17. Michelle says:

Not me. When I met my hubby, I thought he was hot, but I didn’t see anything happening between us.

Two children and seven years of marriage later….:hyper:

  18. Eve says:

I like to think it’s possible. Love at first sight doesn’t necessarily mean a lasting love. Not everyone ends up marrying a person just because they fall in love with them. And I know a lot of people who dated for a long time before “falling” in love, get married and then discovered after a while that they didn’t really know them. Who knows except the people involved. Since I’ve never been in love I have only other people’s stories to go by and there are a few who have experienced a “feeling” at first sight who have blogged here. Furthermore, I do love it in books – after all, they are works of fiction and therefore isn’t anything possible? Not only that, but romances are our fantasies and I think a lot of people want that “love at first sight” feeling. Boy have I really rambled on :blahblah: All I wanted to say was put me in the drawing.

  19. Jeanette Jackson says:

I would still like to be included in the giveaway. Love at first sight? Nah. I agree with the lust at first sight. Real love takes time to develop

  20. Alyssa says:

Love at first sight. I don’t believe in it for myself, although I have friends who tell me it happened to them. I don’t quite understand it, but it’s a lovely idea.

Please include me in the drawing.

  21. Steph T. says:

I’m with Sharon about the love at first conversation thing. My husband claims he fell in love with me on our first date.(and yes, I remind him about this all the time, especially if he starts complaining that I’m nagging him)

So yeah – I totally buy the concept in books…

  22. Lis says:

I definitely believe in love at first sight. I think there’s lust at first sight too which probably happens a lot more often then the love at first happens. So yeah, completely buy the concept in books and real life

Please put me in the draw

  23. Jennifer says:

I was in college when I started having this dream. In it I was walking alone through quiet halls in a school. As I walked a man would come up behind me and wrap his arms around me and hold me. I never saw his face because I was unable to turn around in the dream. In real life, a few months later I started talking to another student. He looked familiar to me but we had never met before. He asked me out and thirteen years later we are still together.

  24. Eve says:

    Jennifer – how beautiful.

  25. ruby55 says:

Hmm, I was going to say the same as Katie. Since I have no children of my own, I fell in love with my nephews and nieces at first sight. One of them turned 20 on Saturday and the impromptu lunch party sort of turned my day upside down. But I still love him.

You can be attracted to someone at first sight and maybe even know that this might be “the one”. However, as others have said, you can’t really love someone until you come to respect them and that comes with getting to know them. That’s why I don’t like the books in which sex seems to play the major role for determining romance. You have to be compatible in that way as well, but you can’t really love someone until you know who that person is inside. No wonder the divorce rate is so high if sexual compatibility is the only criterion for love.

  26. Danica says:

    I still want a copy. πŸ™‚

Love at first sight, well, I suppose. To me love is more about the commitment than a simple emotion, so I guess you could see a person and commit to them for the rest of your life, but why would anyone take that risk? Oh yeah, I’m such a romantic… can’t you tell I’m a romance writer? :fryingpan: However, I will say that I totally buy into it in books and movies.

  27. Laurie says:

How about love a second sight? TIMIMG?I first met my husband my junior year of college when he was dating my roommate…he was totally off limits…the start of my senoir year he saw me walking down the street and asked me out I went and we’re still together 28 years later! I’d love to be in the drawing for your earlier book “IT ONLY TAKES A MOMENT”. I do believe in chemistry between two people!

  28. BJ Deese says:

Hi Suzanne! I’m not sure that I do believe in “love at first sight”, but I definitely enjoy it in my romance books.

Please enter me in the giveaway. Thanks! Have a great week.

  29. Sandy J says:

Yes, I do! But I also believe you don’t realize it is love. There is a chemistry or attraction that pulls you together and love grows from that. I do love romance novels where the hero sees the heroine and falls for her right away yet has to work to make her love him. Please enter me in the giveaway!

  30. Teresa says:

Yep. I believe in love at first sight. Don’t really have a story, just that I believe.

  31. Mary says:

Where is my Suzanne Sunday blog? I’m having withdrawal.

  32. Sonja (from HCRW) says:

Love at first sight is a toughie. πŸ™‚ Everyone’s had such great comments and stories! I, personally, tend to fall in love quickly (as I did with my husband), so it doesn’t seem that farfetched to me.

But then, my theory is that falling in love and really LOVING are two separate things. Falling in love involves mushiness and butterflies, and loving involves decisions and commitments. Unromantic, I know, but that’s my theory anyway. πŸ™‚

  33. Juanita Stender says:

I do not believe in love at first sight. I agree that you can get a feeling about someone when you first see them but love is a pretty strong word to use for that feeling. Falling in love is easy but staying in love takes a lot of work! Please enter me in the book drawing too. Thanks πŸ™‚

  34. Mary Stella says:

I don’t believe in love at first sight. However, I believe in “oh-wow-gotta-get-to-know-him/her-better” at first sight. :rotfl:
