Free Book Friday: Another Walk With Me Update!

Mar

First wildflower spotting on my daily walks……… Other fun sightings–frolicking calves…….. Not so fun sightings–litter!!! (Grrrr!!)

Okay, who’s been doing what? I’ve been walking four miles–most days. I admit, I’m weak! I got tired of walking in the cold, so I skipped some of the colder days in March. What about you? Been keeping up with your exercise? Or just starting up?

Post here and leave a comment telling me what you’re up to and one random comment number will be drawn to receive their pick of an autographed book from my contemporary backlist!

  1. Jill says:

Shoveling snow in between writing pages, and you know what? TIRED of it. The snow, that is. Not the writing … 😛

  2. Melissa says:

I haven’t been keeping up with my exercise. I’ve been sleeping and keeping my mind occupied with books and the computer.

  3. Sonja says:

Yoga here and there, but I missed it yesterday so I could sit at home on my butt and eat chips. Doh.

  4. Robyn says:

I’ve been doing the tread mill twice a week; am only up to half a mile but that is half a mile more than before so I’m happy.

  5. catslady says:

Still getting the extra bowling in but the weather is finally getting nicer and I do plan on getting out for some walking.

  6. Jennifer Yates says:

I haven’t really kept up with the exercise, but I have changed my eating habits.

  7. Angie says:

Does lifting 15, 10# cans of spaghetti sauce, serving 300 plates of spaghetti including salad, bread, dessert and tea. Emptying 6, 50 gallon trash cans….continously. Cleaning up the kitchen, the dining room and the foyer after a dinner and silent auction, then getting up at 7:00 on Sunday morning and helping prepare punch and slicing cake to serve 400 plus people count as exercise? Oh and we also served lunch to about 150 people after that and put everything back to rights… Exhausting, but very rewarding and we raised around $4,700 for the youth center at our church. Other than that most of my exercise has been coming from vigorous dog walking and laundry folding.

  8. Karen says:

I’ve been organizing my office and writing. And I had been exercising but have slacked off the last couple of weeks so I need to get back to it!

  9. Maureen says:

I try to walk on the treadmill four or five times a week. Some weeks are more sucessful than others.

  10. Crystal says:

I haven’t been riding my bike as much as I was. 😳 I have been really busy and I need to get back into my routine.

Walking 4 miles most days is fantastic. You are doing great!

  11. Fannie M Wiggins says:

Lifting grandsons ages 6, 5, 3 and newborn 91/2 lbs. is a lot of exercise. I had a lot of fun helping them ride bikes and tricycles. I lost 8 lbs. in the two weeks I was with them so you can see I exercised. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I will be walking some at least 3 days a week. Can’t walk far or fast but every little bit helps. Have a great week-end and hugs to all you great ladies.

  12. Carol says:

I’ve been walking. Maybe not as much as I should but I’m trying! I also babysit two little boys so that should count, too! lol You are doing great Suzanne!

  13. Lis says:

Not much walking going on, still haven’t moved the reappearing boxes around the air walker. But have been bowflexing again. Uped the weights on the leg machine 5 pounds (had to start low weight because of my knee) so that was a little progress.

  14. ruby55 says:

I haven’t been keeping up as well as I wanted with my walking. And four miles? Not much fun in the city. I walked quite a bit on Wednesday and what bothered me the most was the sand and dust left over from sanding the icy roads that got into my eyes and nose. Yuck.

A pretty flower! I love the wildflowers more than the cultivated ones. Haven’t seen any out here yet but then I’m in a fairly bare part of the city.

I’m definitely not exercising to lose weight, only to get fitter. If I lose any more, I’ll be a stick. Too much stress with the move in November and still on-going.

  15. KimW says:

We had the whole inside of our house painted and I have been working muscles I never knew I had just trying to get everything out of the closets and back in. haha!

  16. Joyce says:

Have bad knees so I am trying to remember to do my knee exercises to strengthen those muscles.

  17. Estella Kissell says:

Still have rain, rain, rain here so am still walking in place…have only lost 6 lb.:wall:

  18. TeresaH says:

I’ve been slack…well, I still am not completely released from surgery yet. I did purchase a low-impact exercise dvd though that I think I will enjoy (at least one I get my breath back! LOL) it’s Richard Simmon’s Sweatin’ to Disco. I like it because there are REAL looking people who are also overweight on it of all age groups AND because it seems more like dancing than exercising.:bananadance:

  19. Laurie says:

Still swimming although some mornings have been downright “NIPPY”. Orange blossoms are out…what a great smell! My daughter and my sister (and her family) are all coming down for Easter…Can’t wait!! Spring’s here!!

  20. Sue C says:

Confession: I’ve eaten lots of chocolate this week as I had a rejection on my revised, revised Presents full. But I’m going for long walks with the dog every day so I should soon work it off.

    Sue

  21. Michelle says:

Good for you! I gave up exercise for Lent. :loser:

  22. Madeline says:

I’m still thinking about all your kitties! Is Mr. MAX the purported FATHER, anywhere to be found???? Are you keeping the kitties??

  23. Suzanne says:

SueC–I’m so sorry about the rejection! Chocolate is definitely in order!!!

Madeline, we’re keeping the kittens!! I haven’t seen Max this past week. Maybe he moved on to find a new girlfriend since Callie is otherwise occupied, LOL.

(Angie, I think those cans count–especially since they were for a good cause!)

  24. Margery says:

I’ve been doing step aerobics, but my knees are rebelling. I wonder if they have geriatric step classes.

  25. Melissa Mc says:

I was doing great. Walking one day, doing a kickboxing show the next and then the kids got strep. All three of them. So now my only exercise is walking up and down the stairs and getting up from my writing to get a glass of water.

  26. Beth says:

absolutely nothing. Just had oral surgery last thursday so i’ve been lazing around all weekend and mentally griping at the b/f because he didnt come visit me this weekend.

  27. Lillian says:

I’ve been walking on the treadmill, swimming and doing nautilis. Pretty flower in the picture!
