Unrelated photograph. Lil Sassy here is three months old now and leaving the farm on Sunday–going to her new home!
I have a small handful of participants coming for a Preserving and Breadbaking workshop on Saturday, August 11, so I’m going to open this up in case anyone else would like to attend. Dede (wvhomecanner) aka the Preserving Guru will be here. I’ve implored upon Dede’s assistance in giving this preserving workshop due to my lack in preserving workshop skills. I need to learn from the master before I give another preserving workshop on my own. Dede and I will be doing the preserving workshop together and I’ll be giving a breadbaking workshop as well.
The day will start at 9 a.m. with breakfast then right to work. Lunch will be provided and a farm tour is included. The day will end at 4 p.m. and you will take home what you make! I’m so excited to have Dede coming–this day is sure to be a treat. Spaces are very limited.
If you’re interested in attending, the cost for the day is $110 and must be paid in full to sign up. Contact me at [email protected] for payment instructions or any questions.
Hope to see you at Sassafras Farm!

Suzanne, you did fine, great even! I’m in fact going to try to do some jam this coming weekend, thanks to your inspiration. If you forgot to tell us anything, please let me know before I start… 😀
And by the way… pix of GB, BP, Poky and Jack and Zip are up over at FWY&S today. Great portrait of Suzanne and the Bad Baby by Chera.
