I knew that naughty little corn husk doll was going to come to a bad end.
From the moment she started doing the splits in broad daylight, buck naked.
And then there was the beer.
She didn’t get any better behaved after that. She was always out all night. Never telling anyone where she was going or when she was coming back. Partying till all hours. Coming home smelling like a bar.
Until….
Some say it could have been the breeze.
Some say it might even have been a cat.
But those of us who knew that little corn husk doll know better. She was slapped-up drunk.
And she fell right off the porch.
The chickens raced for her. Then Clover got wind of her unfortunate drop and that was it. I couldn’t get down there quick enough to save her.
That little corn husk doll was gone.
And all we can do now is hope her story will help others.
Clover: “It helped me. Bad girls are….”
“….delicious!”

Bad girls will have it out! I thought of you last week since I had to stop on my way to work 3 times for chickens in the road! It seems that neighbors down the road now free range their chickens.

I wondered why you were putting up the corn husk dolls again until I scrolled down. That was funny seeing the evidence sticking out of clover’s mouth :eating:. I wonder if you put new one up there, wheather Clover might think she was being haunted, woooo?

Your stories are the best! You sure know how to “romance” the heck out of every day farm life. Keep ’em comin…we’re always ready to read ’em!

HA HAhahaaaa! You’ve heard of people laughing till tears came? Well I’ve never had that happen to me — until now! OMG!! I LAUGHED myself SICK! Just TOO funny! I especially appreciate this story because I also live on a farm and have goats (from Hell…) and chickens (my rooster, “Boyfriend”, has now learned how to ‘knock’ on my kitchen door for a treat!). Thank you for a nice ending to my evening! I can’t wait to read more! ~ Annie
