Rain….
….flood….
….mud.
We have….
….three girls….
…..and a lil stud!
I told 52 I couldn’t tell the difference. “I can’t tell. I can’t tell!” I inspected both of Jester’s babies and they looked the same. He had inspected Miss Jacob’s lambs and declared them to be one boy, one girl. So he showed me one of Miss Jacob’s babies, which looked just like Jester’s two lambs. “They all look the same,” I wailed. “I can’t tell!” Then he showed me the other one and said, “This one is the boy.”
OH.
Never mind…………..

They are so beautiful!! I love the new babies! Any sign of more little Cotswold lambs on the way yet? A little black stud will be a good addition to the group π
We are starting to get a lot of mud too. Half the snow has melted and its raining. Spring is here!

Hahaha! Thanks for the laugh, it really is not always the simplest. I know vets who get confused on cats. And your poem was lovely!

You know you are a real farmer because you own a pair of mud boots :happyflower: . One year my kids wore their’s with shorts all summer long, rain or shine. I am not quite sure what their fashion statement was.

Don’t feel badly. It IS hard tell. Amazing to me how men don’t seem to have a problem with it.

Cats aren’t easy to tell the difference since the main male part is inside so it’s hard when they are really young lol. Babies of any kind are soooooo adorable.

Love your fashion statement! Suzanne, just watch them when they pee; makes it simpler to tell. And, don’t look for a penis, but a scrotum. It is easy to mistake the umbilical cord.
No lambs here for another month π :sheep:

Those poor babies probably wish they were back in the womb with all that rain coming down. We have that same rain here and I wish it would go away already!

Spring floods and little lambs… It’s spring for sure. I’m glad those mommies wear thick woolen sweaters. Maybe the warm milk will keep the babies warm. What cute little families! Aren’t you proud?!

Are the lambs warm enough in this wet weather? I’d be worried about pneumonia. Heck, I’m worried about pneumonia for me with it being so dank. How do you keep from bringing them inside at night and tucking them into beddy-bye with you?

I don’t know about determining a lamb’s sex but I am durn good at determining a baby gerbil’s sex. lol
Eons ago, my sister’s two gerbils (which were supposed to be two females, per the pet store) had two batches of babies, in very close succession. My mom plopped down the cage full of baby gerbils in front of me and said, “divide them up by boy or girl”. There I was, all of 17, holding each squirming baby gerbil, butt first, tail held high, trying to decide “are you a baby boy or a baby girl?”. After dividing the lot, I double checked to be as sure as I could. They were kept in separate cages and, amazingly, I got it right as there were no more wee gerbils.

you cracked me up with this post!
We once had two cats and I was SURE they were both girls…
until I saw them “doing the nasty”….then I was convinced one of them was gay because there was no “evidence” one was a male..
then one showed signs of being pregnant.
All righty then…
One WAS a boy after all…hahaaaa
