LOOK!! She is DOING A CHORE! Making her camp bed! Camp is a Good Thing! I dropped my three kids off at 4-H camp first thing this morning. They will be making beds and breaking rocks and digging ditches all week long!! Okay, maybe not, but after my daughter announced, “I am on vacation for summer so I’m not doing anything,” I enjoy imagining that she is on a chain gang this week. Actually, I figure they are going to have a lot of fun from now till Friday night. But all I know for sure is that I AM FREE! No wet towels thrown all over the bathroom floor! No forks in the yard for no known reason! No dirty dishes hidden behind furniture! No calls of MO-OMMMMM! Just me and the kittens and the bunnies and peace and quiet…..
Whatever will I do?????:bananadance:

Think she’ll remember how to make beds and do chores when she gets home?

I’m loving her Tigger blanket! My wish is for the kids to never *quite* grow up. Have a great time alone.

Oops… 😳 it’s a Garfield blanket, now that I’ve looked closer. Still, the idea is the same.

I am sure you can find something to fill in the hours your children are gone. There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day anymore.

Have a great time alone. My mother never did get to be home alone without at least one kid there. Since we had no 4-H camps but camps more by age-group, we all went to different church camps. The first year my sister went, I was one of the counselors and my mother only had the two boys home.
Have fun!! Relax or are you still slaving away in the garden?

Suzanne, WV is much more green than TX. Curl up in the porch swing with a good book and enjoy the peace and quiet. Or maybe get some serious uninterrupted writing done.

Hope you’re enjoying your peace and quiet. When are they coming back? Not that I want to remind you of that but…maybe ease you slowly into that idea. And I bet you do miss them–in a way.
Hope you don’t mind if I post this here. Author Marjorie Jones’s daughter, 17, has been missing since the night of June 14 to 15 presumably with a male, 23-25, who has a nasty temper.

No Amber Alert issued because she may have gone willingly.
