I’m always telling my hubby to remove the dryer lint after drying clothes. But I’ve never left him a note. I’ll have to try that and see if it works. Morgan is adorable.
Hah. I always clean it out before putting clothes INTO the dryer. I sure wish one of my girls cared enough to get angry over stuff NOT being done around here. LOL 😆

I’m with Patty, clean it before you put the clothes in. But then again, I’m with Catray — my parents’ next door neighbors had a fire that did extensive damage, and their dog died. It was traced to the dryer.
I am with Morgan clean the dryer lint out. lol. So cute she cares enough to remind you. lol.. Wish my kid would think as much about chores as she does. The sticky notes are cute. I like the stars.
Our dryer (LG, and I love it; it sings a song when it’s done, but I digress) reminds you every time you start it to check the filter. Of course, being reminded that often sort of inures you to it after awhile. You can’t win!
Suzanne it looks like many loads of clothing went through the dryer withour the lint being removed. I know it is easier to remove a lot of lint, but remember that the little pieces of lint can cause a fire!!!!!!!…..I want you to have a home, so keep after her Morgan.

Since others are sharing their fire stories I will share mine. Over 20 years ago a friend of my sister’s was killed in a house fire that was caused from the dryer. His parents weren’t home and he was asleep and died. It was just awful.

If you had cleaned that lint filter out after EVERY load of clothes, the lint would be the same color. Clearly, you dried a load of whites, then a load of darks.

Also, you SHOULD BE SAVING ALL THAT FREAKING LINT! It is an excellent fire-starter when combined with all your leftover candle wax. Make nice little squares and see how easy it is to start your woodstove up!

I too have to agree with Morgan. I had to put a sticky note on my dryer to remind my son and his friend that was staying with us at the time to “clean the lint trap every load” I clean it when I take a load out so it is ready for the next load to go in.
Why Are you using a DRYER anyway!!! I thought country people hung there cloths out to dry!!! Be a little green! There is nothing better than bedding hung out to dry. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN MY CHICKENS IN THE ROAD FAMILY!

There is another culprit lurking here that may actually be the problem-causer. Have you questioned ALL the suspects??? How about – – – Weston (teenage boys never remember to do anything! – Except for my Madison – because he is a laundry-obsessed as I am – Hmmm, wonder how that happened? LOL

I clean the lint tray sometimes before and sometimes after. There’s no rhyme or reason for it. But I always do clean it out for each load. I don’t ever want a fire to start! I also clean inside where the tray is and the tube thingy that vents the hot air to outside. I also never have it running while we are out of the house (or the washer or dishwasher in case of a flood, because I know it happens. And just *MY* luck it will!)
When our lint trap was on top, I cleaned it out before turning it on. Now, it’s on the front (inside the door), and I clean it out before removing the clean, dry clothes, so they don’t get lint on them.
Tell her she needs a hobby…
and you’re leaving that lint there to enable her new hobby.

I have a new dryer with the same looking lint trap as you—it’s on top and a bit of a pain to get it out!! Not too convenient. I try to clean it out before each day of using. Good luck!!
