Next spring? April or May, not sure of the date yet….
–there’s going to be a wedding right here on the studio deck. Ross and Selena want to get married on the farm! Which means, of course, that I am beside myself with excitement. I get to plan a wedding! I have always envisioned the spot (above) on the studio deck as the perfect spot for a wedding. The expansive decks of the studio provide plenty of room to surround and look down on the vows taking place there, with the pastures and woods as a scenic backdrop.
Ribbons and flowers will festoon the railings, and the studio kitchen will make a great place to serve food. I have tons of tables and chairs, everything we need! I’m so excited about getting to plan this wedding!
Okay, yes, the baby is due in February, and the wedding will be in April or May. Ross will be out to sea until the end of the year. Spring is a lovely time for an outdoor wedding. As Honey Boo Boo says, “First comes love, then comes baby, then….” Yeah, she looked a little confused in that episode. And now that we have that aired out and can move on—
I just hope I’m the one holding the baby!!! (I think it’s gonna have blue eyes, what do you think?)

Who better to plan a wedding? How exciting, you will be decorating, and cooking and baking in your head untill the big day arrives, I am anxious to see the cake(s) and of course there will be pies, I am sure. I have baked a couple of wedding cakes, it was a lot of fun and very inexpensive, I still have the pans…somewhere in the basement. The decorating prospects are endless at the farm, I can see some of the animals wearing flowers too.

Has Selena invited Maia to be a bridesmaid yet? I wonder what color she will pick for the goatie dress? Blue? Maybe silver?

Ross has such a wonderful smile. A wonderful bride-to-be, a new baby on the way, and a fantastic job in the Navy. That is one lucky boy! I think it is safe to say you will have a blue eyed baby to spoil rotten in February.
I wish them all the happiness in the world.

What a cute couple! He needs to make sure he signs her up for military health care and gets her an ID card! Marriage before the baby would be a bit more fiscally responsible…! (former Army wife talking here)…I think my son’s birth & my hospital stay was under $10 when he was born 34 years ago in Germany….

denisestone says:
mschrief is absolutely right. The cost of her prenatal visits and hospital stay will be almost zero if she was already on the military health care plan before the baby is born. (My brother-in-law is in the navy and his new wife got that military ID card pronto to take care of medical issues.)

Maybe they could do the courthouse thing to make it legal for military healthcare and have the wedding on the deck as planned?

I agree with the comment about a quick city hall ceremony, depending on Ross’ leave, to get that ID card. It’s the golden ticket! What fun you’re going to have. Maia would make a great ring bearer 🙂 And if I remember Biology 101 correctly, two blues can’t have a brown-eyed baby but two browns can.

To finish up my previous comment . . . Two browns can have a blue-eyed baby, which is my situation.

Oh!!! I <3 the idea of a courthouse wedding now and a Spring time wedding after the baby is born. What a brilliant idea!

I agree with the courthouse marriage if it is at all possible, and a beautiful wedding ceremony on the farm later.

I reinforce what others have said about getting that Military ID card asap. My dh was retired military and it is the golden ticket for medical.

And the beginning of grandchildren on the farm, as you envisioned. That should give them some happy memories (and stories to tell their own grandchildren). Have you started knitting the baby blanket yet?
