Mother's Day for Cows | Chickens in the Road

Glory Bee escaped the goat yard. She and BP headed for the hinterlands. They’re either hiding out or they’re on their way to Canada, where they hope to escape extradition. I’ll have an update as soon as I have an update!

Meanwhile, I’ve been working in the kitchen for four hours. So far, I’ve made chocolate ice cream mixture to chill for ice cream-making later, bread, butter (and buttermilk by default), washed and packed a couple dozen eggs, and handled the milk and cream from yesterday. Apparently, there will be no milk to handle today. Happy Mother’s Day to me!

That is one stubborn giant baby cow! The silver lining is a break from milking and listening to the bawling calf for a day. I think the runnaways will show up at supper time, BP’s no dummie

Well dang!!! Of course those cows sneaked off… They were too embarrassed to let you see what they were doing!
Probably set the weaning back a week also, but that’s the way cows roll….
Hope you have a Happy Mothers Day after you finish serving every one else. You are great!!!
(maybe Nutmeg and Clover will give you some of their cookies! )

That Glory Bee is a bad influence. Next all the moms and babies will be taking off to the woods. Maybe cookies will lure the goats back. I can just see the hens tieing up their eggs in a kerchief on the end of a pole, hoisting it on their shoulder and heading out.

Hey, don’t you work too hard. Your kids are supposed to bring you breakfast in bed but I bet you bounded out before Morgan was awake. Happy Mother’s Day suzanne.

So I saw that you had posted a short Mother’s Day Daily Farm and thought “Oh, how nice! Suzanne must be planning a nice, easy day off for Mother’s Day.” Silly, silly me.

If they are headed for Canada, one of the bridges is not too far from me. I’ll let you know if they pass by.
