Beginnings and endings are all woven together on a farm. While Cookie Doe came “home” here on Monday for her new beginning, on Sunday, two adoptive mommies came to claim Nutmeg’s two new babies–in their future ending and beginning. No, they aren’t going anywhere right now, but they are sold. One of my readers, Teresa (left in the photo), together with her family, will be taking both of Nutmeg’s babies, and I’m so pleased! I love it when goaties go together. They put down a deposit and will be back in October to take their new babies home. (I haven’t told Nutmeg yet. Sore subject.)
Since I have yet to paper them, they’re going to name them then I’ll paper them accordingly. The little tan and white that I love so much? His name is Peanut! I love that! (Still awaiting a final decision on the little black one’s name.)

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

They are cute babies, that’s for sure. And by the time Oct. get here, Nutmeg will be asking; “What TOOK you so long to get them?????” “You want them? Please, TAKE THEM!” “Oh, my aching udder!”

We have a name for the little black one. They have decided on Coal, since he is black like coal.
