Summer ‘Do’

Jun
10

When Morgan has time on her hands, her thoughts turn to her hair. She has a lot of time on her hands in the summer in Texas–no friends, no school, no sports. She usually gets her hair cut. She took this photo of her new layered hairdo with her phone and sent it to me. I love it! Now if she will just keep the bangs short enough to stay out of her eyes…..

I know. That’s asking too much.

She looks more grown up.By the time summer is over what do you want to bet she’ll be peaking out from behind those bangs again! But you won’t care …you’ll just be glad to have her home. :-)

Love the whispyness of her style. She should keep her hair cut like this, it’s very becoming!

What a great haircut. I love that style on Morgan. Of course, I really like seeing both of those beautiful eyes.

Really nice haircut. Makes Morgan look so grownup. I like the wispy bangs. They frame her blue-grey eyes so nicely and really set them off. She’s got beautiful skin. So often you find girls hiding breakouts with their hair. She’s so pretty she doesn’t need to do that.

Now’s the time to start experimenting with eye makeup–how much is too much, what is the minimum you need to set off your eyes and still get to school on time. Brown rather than black, soft brown colors instead of the expected blue for eyeshadow. They may never see that bathroom again until Morgan leaves to go back to WV.

Morgan,I almost didn’t recognize you(with two eyes and all).
It’s a very nice look on you. One vote= you should keep it light and airy, that is unless you plan to donate to ‘Locks of Love’.

Looks wonderful…just right for summer. My oldest has the ‘bangs in the face’ look. Maybe I’ll show her Morgan’s. Her hair is below her waist so I doubt that will change but maybe the bangs could be lighter and whispy. Love it!

I really like Morgan’s cut. It looks soft and feminine, but easy to care for. And it suits her. She looks lovely!

Wow, she looks so grown up with her hair like that! And she has such beautiful eyes. She should show them (both of them) more often!

She looks great! The long bangs are the style right now anyway.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
