What it looks like when I’m headed for the barn:
Cart loaded with goat milker, cow milker, egg basket, and baby bottles.
I spend a couple of hours every morning with milking, other barn chores, and handling the milk and washing equipment etc. Less time in the evenings because I let the calves do the evening cow milking and just milk the goats. In between, it’s workshop prep, workshop shopping, making soaps and other things I sell, and trying to keep things under control at the house. Busy-r-me!
But–it’s all good. When I’m really tired, I remind myself that I love this life! And I do. But if I could figure out how to get more sleep, it would be awesome.

I wish I had the energy you have! I started my farm last year in January, but I had been diagnosed with COPD just after I bought the property. I do what I can, but I need more help with some stuff. I get my critters all fed, and get them fresh water, but milking anyone is not going to happen, I can’t get that low to the ground and manage to get back up. 😥 . We are starting to grow veges, and my daughter’s boyfriend is making planter boxes for us so I can do that pretty much standing up. That is a big help. It’s not going the way I had originally planned, but I couldn’t think of a better way to live! (as compared to what I WAS doing! 🙂 )

You have come a long way since the move to the Crooked little House!
I am proud of you! It is a good life. I have had to give the milking over to my husband but he is doing a great job so we are still enjoying that wonderful raw milk.
I knew you had it in you!
