How to make Sugar Cookies:
1 1/2 cups butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
dash of salt
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; blend. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt. Divide dough into three pieces on plastic wrap. Store wrapped dough in the refrigerator for at least three hours. Preheat oven to 400-degrees. Take out chilled dough one section at a time. Roll each section to 1/4- to 1/2-inch thickness, dusting with flour. Cut out in shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and decorate as desired. Bake for 6-8 minutes. Makes 3-4 dozen cookies.

:shimmy: Thank you for the recipes which you made sound so delicious, and effortlessly easy to make. I took my sweet time at your website because it was so inviting, not only the background, but your simple, tireless, wording of each recipe. Instead of nervous, I actually relaxed, enjoying, and savoring every word you had written. I felt as if I had been in your kitchen sitting there with you having tea, or coffee and the smell of fresh bread coming out of the oven filling the air. Reading your inviting, warm hospitable words, I could actually smell the fresh baked bread. Thank you for your warm inviting ways. I do believe you write, you have a way with words. Thank you, and may God Bless you and your family. It has been sincerely my pleasure. Liz

I made some sugar cookie ornaments and put them on my tree , they look so pretty hanging there , I think I’m going to try the gingerbread ones tomorrow and depending on how it looks I think I may make more next year 🙂 , kind of put an old fashioned touch on a fake tree 😀 .
