The guineas are soooo weird. I find them fascinating. They’ve started making their noises now that they’re growing up. At first I thought it was a little annoying, but now I like it!

I have 5 freaky and loud guineas outside my den door right this minute. I love them but at one time I had 37 and they were so loud they drove me insane when I went to the barn so I had to sell some of them.

Guess where they were – during a storm???? It sounded like they were removing the roof…. Have you seen their nest? You have a lot in store for you down the road.

Looking at guineas, you really can see the connection between birds and dinosaurs, can’t you? I wonder if prehistoric critters were so loud?

I love their little spotty feathers, but I’m not sure that I could get used to their noise. Do you raise them to eat?

Suzanne McMinn says:
No, they’re good for bug-eating and acting like guard guineas.

They look a little like a chicken with too much morning coffee! The good news is that cookies will cure that.
They lay eggs too don’t they?

When I was in my 20s my neighbor had guineas that made me crazy. They would gather under my bedroom window at the crack of dawn (usually after I had been out way to late the night before) to eat the bugs that were all over the ground under my pole light. They would really raise a racket in their bug eating frenzie. They made me crazy then, but I would really like to have a few of those little bug eaters now. Maybe some day?
