Here’s what’s going on at my house this weekend:
Candles (apple pie, sage and chamomile, and citrus, plus cupcake candles), homemade paper, dehydrated orange slices, sage and chamomile soap, cheese sitting in a brine bath, and various and sundry ingredients and supplies for more soap and scented body sprays.
I’ve got more cheese starting in the pot right now, and I’m about to start some apple swirled soap! What’s on your table today?

What a beautiful table full of homemade wonderfulness! :sun: I have to go to the grocery store first, but I hope to be trying our my very first cheese today! My husband bought me the “Ultimate” cheesemaking kit from Leeners and I’ve been reading “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Cheese Making”, so I hope I’m prepared! First cheese recommended is Paneer Indian Cheese, using lemon juice, then Queso Blanco, using vinegar. If I’m comfortable enough with those, I might move on to Mascarpone and/or Mozzarella this weekend too! But I don’t want to get ahead of myself! Baby steps, baby steps!

 Today, it is Honey Butter Soap to be labeled. Crystal earrings to be finished (I lost my pliers and had to wait for replacements that arrived yesterday). Put clasp on seed bead and gemstone necklace and finish the go-with earrings gift for the sister. This also was waiting on the arrival of missing pliers. Durn pliers. I either left them at beading group meeting room or they have taken up residence somewhere unknown in the couch. I’m painting my new pliers bright pink.

I do a lot of my cooking and crafts on weekends, but nowhere near as much as you! Wow! Today I’m making lasagna (done), bread, your chocolate cake, roasted chickens, and cheddar cheese. Next weekend I plan to take my first shot at parmesan cheese, which will also be my first try at brined cheese. Also on the agenda for next weekend is an experiment with suet bird feed using chicken fat instead of suet. We’ll see how that goes.

Today, I take my Snow Family and the ceramic churches down to work so I can begin decorating there….also going to buy a new Christmas tree for our house, sort through decorations that were brought down from their home in the closet, finish the Christmas cards, bake a turkey and make dressing for supper tonight (my husband thinks an early turkey is an appetizer for Christmas Day dinner), do some laundry and decorate the fireplace mantel.
No soap, candle or paper making here but I might oven dry some oranges and apples. When the turkey is done, that is.
