Suzanne’s Plan for yesterday: Blog, email, figure out how to strip hero, take cat to vet at 2:30.
Buttercup’s Plan for yesterday: Sleep, eat, sleep, eat, figure out how to strip a squirrel, pretend to sleep, dart out door at 2:15 and head down driveway with middle finger pointed up at human who thought she would take him to vet.
Plan for today: new appointment, battle re-engaged.

I believe your cat and my parent’s cat are communicating via CAT-ESP. I swear, when I walk through the door, she actually sighs and rolls her eyes. You again? Did you ever corral her?

I have a cat – Mackenzie – who is still half feral and trying to round her up for anything is a trial. To give her medicine I have to sneak up on her on the bed and quickly throw a blanket or something over her and struggle to keep her under said blanket while trying to put a pill down her throat. She bit me once when I tried to give her a pill without the blanket.

OMG Suzanne! THIS is exactly why I do not own cats. The idea of an animal that walks on all fours, yet is smarter than I am scares the bejeezus out of me!

Oh Buttercup, haven’t you learned that in the end you do not get away with it – the appointment comes sooner or later!! Just get it over with and then go squirrel hunting or whatever fancies your heart.

That’s why I have dogs. When it’s time to go to the vet, if necessary, I just lure them into the truck with bologna.

Eve’s comment about administering medicine to her cat cracked me up. It reminded me of the time I had to corner mine in the laundry room. She growled, hissed, and hid behind the washer, but she still got her damn pill. And then quickly hocked it up. :talktothehand:

I hate it when they hack the pill back up. I have this really funny piece about giving a pill to a cat – now if I can only find it then I would send it to Suzanne!

This is why I don’t have a cat either. OK–I’m allergic too but that’s beside the point. I get enough attitude from everyone else, don’t need it from a pet! (An animal that can flip a bird is just not something I’m willing to deal with!)
Good luck with that though!

LoryKC says:
OK–followed some of the links a little late. Dogs too, huh? We were just about to get one of those…maybe we’ll wait a bit. I’ve been enjoying the past 7 years of no vet trips anyway.
So how’s the progress with the hero? What’s he wearin’ now? :wigglebrow:

Totally agree with Lynn. The problem with cats is they just don’t fall for human tricks like dogs. I can even have a pretend treat in my hand and our idiot, er, rodent, er dog, will do my bidding.

I’ve been needing to take my kitten to the vet for a month now to have him fixed, but I just look at him and frown cause I hate doing it. Even if I know its better in the long run. So I keep putting it off.
