    What makes me happy…

    My Daughter, Kailee makes me happy, especially when she says something outrageous- which is all the time!

    My wonderful friend Suzanne who makes me smile everday with her emails and stories and incredible support. I am so lucky that she is my friend!

    The fact that I am a writer and get to do that everyday even though the waiting makes me crazy- it still makes me happy.

    My beautiful family makes me happy- they love me in spite of it all, accept me as I am, which is what family does, or should- love unconditionally- and for that I am so grateful.

    I am Blessed.

    The smell of the Christmas tree, the sharp tang of pine sap, and that breath of the outdoors.

    Cats playing with the ribbons while I’m trying to wrap the presents.

    Cooking good, tasty, healthy food.

    Sitting beside the fire with a good book, a glass of something, a slice of toast and a cat on my lap.

    Reading something I’ve written and being awed.

    Diving into the dark, dark woods around Latrigg and feeling like the sleeping hill and the silent walker are sharing a marvellous and magical secret.

    To have just learned that though a fire destroyed a friend’s childhood home, her mother, sister and all of their horses, cats, dogs and other critters are safe

    To have a roof above, food in the frig, clothing in the closet and the health to enjoy it all

    To have a good job and a great boss

    To have friends and family to share the joys and challenges with

    Off to hug ds and call a friend.
